Title: Church Strategist (Evangelical)
Reports to: VP of Church Strategies
Location: Virtual Office

JOB SUMMARY: The future of the world and of the Church passes through the family. Communio is dedicated to equipping churches to solve our nation’s faith and family crisis and make disciples of Jesus by strengthening marriages and relationships. The Church Strategist is responsible for helping churches design and implement Communio’s proven ministry model, a Data-Informed, Full-Circle Relationship Ministry®, by providing consultative support and outreach services. This includes helping churches build a comprehensive ministry strategy that provides vision, skills, and community for people at each stage of romantic life – single, engaged, and married – and then using that new ministry as a form of outreach and evangelism to grow the church and transform marriage and relationship health of their members and the surrounding community.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a portfolio of 20 churches and provide ministry training, consultation, and outreach services to build out a Full-Circle Relationship Ministry®. This includes:
    • Equipping churches to launch Relationship Health Assessments (mobile survey) of attendees Sunday Services to understand the relationship health of the church.
    • Consulting with church to set their own Mission Outcomes (goals) and Mission Activities (a strategy) to solve for needs uncovered in the data.
    • Consulting with churches on operationalizing their own Ministry Engagement Ladder® – an ongoing sequence of community-oriented Outreach Events (2-3 per year), Ongoing Engagements (6-8 per year), and Growth Journeys (2-3 tracks per year).
    • Providing Communio’s outreach services to help the church run effective outreach campaigns into their surrounding community with invitations to Outreach Events (the first rung of the engagement ladder).
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching around Communio’s growth strategies, principles, and methodology so the church can best plan, track, and execute their events to achieve their stated Mission Outcomes and Activities. That includes:
    • Manage line of clear communication (consultative emails, calls, etc) with dedicated church staffer to ensure the church has clear action items and an understanding of progress towards their goals.
    • Have strong knowledge of Communio’s Learning Management System (LMS), resources, and tools to provide effective ongoing coaching and mentorship.  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in community relations, communications, ministry, or related field; and/or 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in community relations, church ministry, organizational networking, or related environments.
  • 5-7 years’ leadership experience working in church life (staff member, ministry leader, etc.) and/or ministry, preferably in the areas of event planning and coordinating, marketing and communication, and/or evangelism and outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to coach and motivate pastors and church staff to action, offer feedback and guidance, and clear next steps.  
  • Highly organized with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and recommendations for churches to act on as they implement Communio’s model.
  • Participate in relevant events and convenings marriage and family life ministers to understand current trends marriage ministry and seek opportunities for collaboration and identify potential clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak publicly in meetings and trainings.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Office applications required (Mac and OS applications too).
  • Ability to conduct ongoing correspondence through various modes of communication with growing and ever-changing networks.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions on cultural marriage, family, and relationship issues.

Title: Development Manager
Reports to: President & CEO
Location: Alexandria Office

JOB SUMMARY: The Development Manager is responsible for improving the overall contributed revenue and development health of Communio. He or she must work closely with and support the President and CEO in creating the organization’s development strategy and work to execute it. This role involves administration, strategy, development and deployment of donor communications, and foundation grant writing.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute Communio’s annual and long-term development strategy to include new donor acquisition, prospect research, major donor communications, and stewardship strategies to increase revenues in support of Communio and its mission.
  • Manage Communio’s foundation grant writing program and strategy.
  • Build and execute Communio’s donor communications strategy to include direct mail, online giving, and fundraising campaigns through social media.
  • Oversee the development of a digital, online low to mid-level donor program.
  • Build out a $10,000+ donor event experience and giving club.
  • Measurably increase the overall number of $1,000+ and $10K+ contributors.
  • Work with Communio’s church engagement team to create new pathways for prospecting and developing donors.
  • Collaborate closely with Communio’s president while managing and building out the organization’s development staff.
  • Manage development vendors and consultants.
  • Work with Communio’s Salesforce Administrator to augment and maintain current Salesforce fundraising system capabilities.

JOB SUMMARY: The Salesforce Administrator will oversee the management and development of Communio’s Salesforce architecture. In addition to managing and building our DLRSs and flows, the Salesforce Administrator will work with the Director of Ministry Services to ensure all staff needs related to Salesforce are met. This includes providing the departments with requested reports, ensuring the information is accurate, creating new processes, and adjusting layouts. This person is expected to be a quick thinker who is eager to learn. He or she will work with the Director of Ministry Services to optimize Salesforce so that each member of team can reduce the amount of time spent entering data while increasing the information that we have available. The Salesforce Administrator will be instrumental in creating automations and processes within Salesforce to make this optimization a reality.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

  • Create and manage our DLRSs and flows
  • Create reports for all departments (Development, Operations, Engagement, Programs)
  • Optimize our data entry processes
  • Correct and enter data into Salesforce
  • Create fields as needed
  • Adjust layouts for the different departments
  • Create dashboards to better understand the reports and trends
  • Regularly meet with members of each department to understand their Salesforce needs and anticipate how to alleviate their pain points
  • Use Zapier to automate information from other sources into Salesforce

OUTCOMES:

  • In-house expert on Salesforce and main point of contact for staff data service and troubleshooting
  • All data in Salesforce is accurate and trusted by leadership and staff
  • All department heads have dashboards and reports to track performance and KPIs
  • Simplified data input process and automations that improves staff user experience and reduces data-entry time

JOB SUMMARY:

The Executive Assistant to the President serves as the primary administrative assistant for the President. In this capacity, this individual provides multi-faceted administrative support and assistance to ensure effective use of the President’s time and productive interactions with staff and the public. He or she will handle a wide range of administrative and support tasks and independently initiate and implement processes to manage projects, information, and people. He or she will conduct research and information gathering on behalf of the President and prepare summaries and reports, develop positive and strategic relationships at all levels of the organization and use discretion, judgement, and knowledge of the organization to facilitate the President’s activities and maintain confidentiality.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

  • Manages schedule for the President
  • Complex travel arrangements to advance the mission of Communio with key constituents
  • Manage the President’s email account to ensure prompt response on necessary communication
  • Handling of credit card statements and expense reimbursements,
  • Drafting correspondence and keeping records on donor interactions
  • Meeting preparations and follow-up tasks
  • Board of Directors meeting preparation, coordination, and meeting minutes
  • Tracking measurements and outcomes for the Board of Directors
