Couple’s Christmas Light
Date Night
Pursue Connection and Intentional Time Together
'Tis the season to let your love for one another shine! This date night kit encourages couples to go to a local Christmas village or for a walk around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. Intentional time together will foster intimacy and connection to ensure love is merry and bright!
Kick off your date by bundling up and grabbing your
favorite warm drink!
On the drive over or while getting ready, try this fun activity! How many songs can you name with the word “light” in them? Make it a game by going back and forth naming songs. The first person who takes longer than 5 seconds to name a song loses!
Begin Your Walk!
As you walk around town or around your neighborhood, take note of which light displays are new, different, unexpected, and your favorites! These discussion questions can help lead the conversation and help you discover new and fun things about each other!
Keep the date going!
Have fun with Christmas lights at home! Date night doesn’t have to be expensive or extravagant, just intentional. Carving out time to spend together frequently can help ensure your love stays bright year-round!
Build a Gingerbread House!
Have a friendly competition to see who can make the most “well-lit” gingerbread house. You can use a pre-made kit or make your own out of graham crackers. Just make sure to include as many lights on it as possible. Don’t have light-shaped candies? No problem! You can use regular or mini M&Ms cut in half (put the chocolate side down!). Post pictures of your hoses on social media to get votes for who did the best!
Illuminate Your Pictionary Game!
Use a strand of Christmas lights to play Pictionary. Sitting at a table or on the floor, take turns, 30 seconds each, shaping the string of lights to look like various Christmas objects for your partner to guess. You can make your own Christmas-themed clues, drawn at random from a bowl, or use a site like Quizlet that will generate random Christmas words for you. To make it even more fun, try playing it in the dark!
